Consulting visit to Southern Shan State

About the Visit

This program was part of Improving Market Opportunity for Women Project (IMOW) organized by MEDA Myanmar with the support of the Embassy of Israel in Myanmar. October 13th – 20th Myanmar The mission's overall goal was to examine the existing entrepreneurial infrastructure existing in the Shan state in Myanmar as a prelude to developing means of cooperation between MEDA and MASHAV to achieve improved development and upgrade the agriculture sector in the region. During the visit, the specialist met with decision makers, small and medium business holders, managers of agricultural organizations, experts and project managers in order to understand and to improve the level and quality of business skills, as well as the decision making processes. MCTC experts recommended Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training for Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs), and networking training that help and support small farm holders in their new business initiatives (from an idea to starting a business), including the improvement of business and entrepreneur skills.
